Hello!

Where deviantART has rolled out the new ability to change your username, we have gone ahead and started to look at how this will affect this group. Maintaining such a large database of users that have the ability to change their username at any time could cause some clutter in the database. So in order to maintain the database, the following things will occur effective immediately:

We have updated the procedures for birthdays. You can now note us with with your old username, new username, and date of birth and we will update the database to reflect your new information.

Where it is your responsibility to make sure that your username is up-to-date in our system, any accounts that have had a username change and did not notify us of the change will be removed from the database immediately.

It takes a lot of work and time to run *birthdays and make sure everyone receives their birthday greetings. We could not ask our volunteers to hunt down new accounts, and go through the process of removing and adding on all these accounts. This would add hours to the volunteers' shifts and would take away more time from their own lives, which is already quite limited. Most of you have been with us through these last few months where there have been missed birthdays, due to there just not being enough time in a day. We wouldn't want to see more birthdays missed as a result of adding more to the volunteers' plates.

We appreciate all of your support and patronage.

This is the second year in a row that the May 22nd birthdays have been completely missed. No greetings sent out, no one stopping by... Nothing. Is there something wrong with the system?
